By booking an expedition with Bali Hidden Trails, you agree to the following terms. We specialize in off-road, wild, and unpredictable environments; therefore, these conditions ensure the safety and satisfaction of all our trailblazers.

1. Booking & Payment

  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking to secure your booking, guides, and national park permits.

  • Final Balance: The remaining balance must be settled at least 7 days before the tour start date. For last-minute bookings (less than 7 days), full payment is required immediately.

  • Currency: All prices are quoted in US Dollar (USD). Any bank transfer or transaction fees are the responsibility of the guest.

2. Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that travel plans change, but our remote logistics (like Sukamade) require advance commitment.

  • More than 14 days notice: 70% refund of the total price (minus the non-refundable deposit).

  • 7 to 14 days notice: 50% refund of the total price.

  • Less than 7 days notice: No refund will be issued.

  • No-Show: If you fail to arrive at the designated meeting point at the scheduled time, the booking is forfeited without a refund.

3. Changes Due to “The Trail” (Force Majeure)

Adventure travel is subject to nature. Bali Hidden Trails reserves the right to modify itineraries, switch routes, or delay departures due to:

  • Extreme weather (floods, landslides).
  • Road blockages (e.g., skidded trucks, fallen trees).
  • Volcanic activity or National Park closures.
  • Note: While we always strive to complete the mission, safety is our priority. No refunds are issued for delays or minor itinerary changes caused by external trail conditions.

4. Health & Physical Fitness

  • Participants must be in good physical health especially for Mountains Hiking or Jungle Trekking. Tours like Ijen (High Intensity) or Sukamade (Moderate Intensity) involve physical exertion and bumpy 4×4 travel.

  • You must inform us of any medical conditions (asthma, heart conditions, allergies) or dietary requirements at the time of booking.

  • We reserve the right to refuse a participant if their physical condition endangers the group or the success of the expedition.

5. Wildlife Ethics & National Park Rules

As guests of the wilderness, we follow a strict “Leave No Trace” policy:

  • No Poaching/Collecting: Taking plants, shells, or stones from National Parks is strictly prohibited.

  • Wildlife Interaction: Do not feed, touch, or disturb the animals (including turtles). At Sukamade, silence and no-flash photography rules must be followed as per the Ranger’s instructions.

  • Trash: Whatever you carry in, you must carry out.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • Risk: Adventure travel involves inherent risks, including uneven terrain, wildlife encounters, and remote locations with limited medical access. By booking, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

  • Insurance: Bali Hidden Trails does not provide personal travel insurance. We strongly recommend that all guests have comprehensive insurance that covers “Adventure Activities,” medical evacuation, and trip cancellation.

  • Personal Items: We are not responsible for damage to personal electronics (cameras, phones) caused by dust, water, or the bumpy nature of 4×4 travel. Use waterproof bags!
