West Bali Savana Trekking & Wildlife Discovery

Morning: Departure and Coastal Navigation
Your journey begins with a private pick-up from your accommodation in the Pemuteran area. We travel to Teluk Terima Beach, the gateway to the national park’s hidden gems. From here, you will board a traditional local boat for a serene cruise through dense mangrove forests. This ecosystem is a haven for biodiversity; keep your eyes peeled and your camera ready, as this is a prime opportunity for birdwatching, often revealing kingfishers and herons darting through the roots.
Mid-Morning: Conservation and the Bali Starling
The trekking portion of the tour commences at Brumbun, home to the Bali Starling Breeding Center. This is a pivotal moment of the day, offering a rare look at the intensive efforts to save the Leucopsar rothschildi—one of the world's rarest birds—from the brink of extinction. You’ll gain firsthand insight into how the population is managed and protected within the park’s boundaries before heading deeper into the wilderness.
Midday: Savana Hike and Picnic Lunch
Transitioning from the shade of the breeding center, we hike into the vast West Bali Savana. This landscape offers a striking contrast to Bali's typical tropical greenery, feeling more like an African plains environment. The trail leads us toward the coastline, where a curated picnic lunch awaits on the beach. After refueling, you'll have ample time to swim in the crystal-clear waters, enjoying the tranquility of this remote shore.
Afternoon: Mangroves and Local Hospitality
The final leg of the walking tour takes you back through the intricate mangrove paths, showcasing the park's shifting topography. To conclude the experience, we will stop at a local House. Here, you can unwind and reflect on the day’s sights over a refreshing young coconut drink or a cup of local coffee. Once rested, we provide a comfortable transfer back to your hotel in Pemuteran, concluding a 5 to 6-hour immersion in nature.
